Body Cams – Good or Bad?

One of our area city’s police departments are now using body cams.

This got me wondering how long before body cameras become common place for:
– Utility employees
– Customer counter/sales reps
– Front desk/reception positions
– Drive through windows
– Truck drivers & delivery/installation people
– Janitorial/service staff
– Waiters
– Surgeons, ER, paramedics, fire

This might result in better service/respect on both sides of the equation, but also has potential for privacy issues.

Body cams might also be in someone’s glasses, pens in a pocket, necklace, etc., so it might not be obvious that you are being watched/recorded!

Something to think about!

Please comment about if & how your company or organization is considering any  type of body or vehicle cam!

Have any of you considered a personal body cam?
